Development Platforms
MIPS development platforms are available in two different category types.
Gate Array Development Platforms
Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) platforms can have any MIPS core “loaded” into the gate array to provide a real hardware based platform for any of the MIPS CPU cores. In addition, the FPGA platforms can be programmed for various sizes of cache memory, different CPU options and other customer hardware specific functions. The FPGA platforms are the most complex and most expensive of the development platform options.
Malta
This is the largest and most flexible of the MIPS gate array platforms. Malta supports all MIPS processor cores with “on the fly” download of different core configurations. Click here for more information on Malta.
SEAD
The SEAD platform is the lower cost of the MIPS FPGA based development systems. Click here for for more information on SEAD.
